You decide to go on a weekend excursion and enter the cave, with enough food to survive the exploration for a week. you start to go deeper and deeper, it is very dark and humid, almost as if it were a kind of mouth. after hours of walking decide to camp and rest a bit, the cave is so dark that you could never see the sunlight since you entered.
