Let's talk about plant based proteins 🌿 --> First let's talk Complete Proteins! What is a complete protein?? WELL, lets back up a little. There are 20 amino acids and 9 of them our bodies cannot make, because of that they are called essential amino acids. For something to be considered a complete protein it needs to contain all 9 of those amino acids. While animal products such as meat, fish and eggs contain all of those, I wanted to highlight some vegan options that can be used for meals and snacks. 🔸Complete Proteins🔸 - Peanut butter and whole wheat bread - Hummus and pita - Rice and beans - Soy (tofu, edamame) - Quinoa - Nutritional yeast - Spirulina - Buckwheat 🔹Almost complete proteins🔹 - Chia seeds - Hemp seeds
