The only terror I encountered was chasing out a monolithic sized wasp out of the room; and two red admiral butterflies (not a fan of butterflies; they’re very flappy and unpredictable with where they’re headed 😂). I channeled my inner Gandalf and cradles a giant moth to outdoor safety in my hands too. But oh, the finale of animal-related “what on earth is happening in here?” was when, outside in the dark having fun rummaging through the little graveyard and maze, I decided to want to touch very cold stone so badly I ran over to a part of the castle which had those really slim ancient windows, plunged my hand into it, and awoke a sleeping bat who flew into my face 😭 I screeched! His little furry face was illuminated by my head torch I thought it was a tiny bird at first it all happened so quick! Then I ran into nettles. Any onlooking ghosts probably figured I am too stupid to waste their time in haunting.
