Look at this gigantic taro I just harvested! A typical taro root thatβs commercially grown is about the size of a grapefruit. I managed to grow this massive one through an old fashioned technique that doesnβt involve any chemical inputs. The key is to plant it in an area thatβs downhill and gets lots of rain drainage because taro likes wet, boggy soil. Then I put cow manure around the roots when itβs planted. The concentration of minerals and probiotics in the manure is great for soil health.
