Added 2020-12-04 19:58:13 +0000 UTCAfter all the dremeling, gluing and priming, I added a super shiny blue vinyl to each of the center gems in each lasher claw. It wasn’t perfectly lined up, but it’s so shiny that the seams in the vinyl aren’t even really noticeable. This ended up looking so pretty 😍 After adding the vinyl to the gems, I glued all the claw pieces together to the backing piece. It didn’t line up perfectly unfortunately, so I had to add kwik seal to the gaps to make it look like it fit better. Once it dried, I added a layer of white acrylic paint all over (after putting painters tape over the gems of course to protect them from paint) to give me a good base for my airbrush paints. I was having a TON of issues with my airbrush machine and spent a painstakingly long five hours trying to fix it because I wouldn’t have any paint coming out, or even water or rubbing alcohol, no matter how many times I cleaned it. I ended up getting a new airbrush pen which thankfully worked, and I painted two black layers combined with UV gloss to make the claws super shiny. After the black, I painted a layer of aluminum silver paint on top, which gave it some shine.
