After painting and shading had all been completed, the last thing I had to do was add some leather detailing to the hilt. I cut out strips of black matte vinyl and topstitched the edges, then hot glued strips around in a “V” pattern, and then straight all the way around at the base of the hilt and by the loop at the other end of the hilt. The fabric gives it an extra touch of legitimacy plus makes it feel much nicer on the grip, especially considering it has some weight to it.
